Wolfson Children's Hospital Holds Weight Loss Summer Camps for Children and Teens
Jacksonville, Florida, May 16, 2007 -- This summer, the Wolfson Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Department will hold intensive, experiential camps for children and adolescents struggling with weight and body image issues.
The camps, which are offered in partnership with the Yates Family YMCA in Riverside, will introduce children to the key components of a healthy lifestyle, including:
Balanced nutrition
Mindful eating and becoming a wise consumer
Reducing emotional eating and overeating
Moderate, enjoyable physical activity
Healthy coping skills
Improved body image and self-esteem
Ages 8 - 11
June 4 - 8, 2007 - 9 am - 5 pm
Morning: Baptist Downtown, Pavilion, Fifth Floor, Classroom 1
Afternoon: Yates Family YMCA (transportation provided)
Ages 12 - 14
June 11 - 15, 2006 - 9 am - 5 pm
Morning: Baptist Downtown, Pavilion, Fifth Floor, Classroom 1
Afternoon: Yates Family YMCA (transportation provided)
The registration fee is $75 (nonrefundable and due at the time of registration) and there is a $125 camp fee that is due on the first day of camp.
