Baptist Health Earns Local and National Recognition for its Employee Wellness Programs
City, American Heart Association Recognize Baptist Health for Creating a Culture of Wellness

Jacksonville, Florida, May 26, 2009 -- Baptist Health has been recognized with two awards for its commitment to improving the health of its employees.

The American Heart Association in April recognized Baptist Health with the Start! Fit-Friendly Company Gold Level Award for promoting a culture of wellness, for offering employees physical activity support, for providing and increasing healthy eating options at work, and for implementing at least nine of the AHA's criteria for physical activity, nutrition and culture. Baptist Health also was recognized with the city of Jacksonville's Healthiest 100 Gold Level Worksite Wellness Award. The award was created this year to honor companies who invest in the health of their workforce through the use of successful worksite wellness programs. Baptist Health was recognized during the Inaugural First Coast Worksite Wellness Conference on Wednesday, May 20.

"We are very honored to receive this recognition, which affirm our commitment to wellness and to improving the lives of our staff and our community," said Hugh Greene, president and CEO, Baptist Health.
