New Baptist Health Foundation Board of Trustees Officers and Members Named
Jacksonville, Florida, March 23, 2010 -- Mac Holley, Dennis Blackburn, Joseph Thompson and Neal Von Stein are newly elected officers of the Board of Trustees of Baptist Health Foundation.
Chairman Holley is president and chief executive officer at Florida Capital Bank of Northeast Florida. Holley is committed to the community, serving as a trustee for the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, and a board member for both the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast and the Northeast Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He also serves as an executive board member on the University of North Florida Foundation.
Vice Chairman Blackburn is the managing member of Blackburn & Company. He joined the Baptist Health Foundation Board in 2003. Mr. Blackburn is past president of the Estate Planning Council of Northeast Florida, past president and current member of the Board of Directors of Cerebral Palsy of Jacksonville, is vice chair and member of the Board of Directors of Spina Bifida Association of Jacksonville, serves on the Finance Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Early Intervention Program Board of Advisors.
Recently elected secretary, Joe Thompson is the managing principal at Gresham, Smith and Partners. He is also involved in the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville Board, YMCA Metropolitan Board, Mayor’s Growth Management Task Force and Downtown Master Plan Committee.
Treasurer Von Stein has been a member of the Board since 2005. He is managing partner at LBA Certified Accountants, and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Northeast Florida, and the St. Johns County Rotary Club. Mr. Von Stein chairs the Baptist Health Foundation Golf Tournament.
In addition, the Baptist Health Foundation announced four new trustees to the Board: Stacy Berg, Gerald Kunkle, Robin Sorensen and Mary Pietan.
Ms. Berg is a member of The Women's Board of Wolfson Children's Hospital and former co-chair of The Women's Board’s Florida Forum fundraising lecture series.
Gerald (Gary) Kunkle is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of DENTSPLY International Inc.
Robin Sorensen is co-founder of Firehouse Subs and president of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. He controls the direction of the company's growth, oversees all creative decisions and manages the company-wide purchasing of products and vendor selection.
Mary Pietan is the Wolfson Children's Hospital Women's Board past president. She has also been involved in other community organizations including serving as a trustee at Episcopal High School, board member of the Cummer Museum of Arts and Gardens, president of the Cummer Council, and founding member of the Women’s Giving Alliance.
Retiring trustees are Barbara Jaffee of Wachovia Securities, Kelly Madden of Wachovia, and community volunteer Karen Wolfson.
