New Members of Baptist Health Boards Announced

Jacksonville, Florida, March 19, 2010 -- Baptist Health, Baptist Medical Center Downtown, Baptist Medical Center Beaches and Baptist Health Foundation have announced changes in its governance, effective March 1, 2010.

Charles E. Hughes, Jr., has been elected to the Baptist Health Board of Directors. He is president and chief executive officer of Florida Capital Group, Inc., a company he founded in 2004. Hughes also is a longtime member of the Baptist Medical Center Downtown Board of Directors. He is a past chairman of and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce. He also is a past president and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Gator Bowl Association, and the United Way of Northeast Florida. Hughes also serves as president-elect and Board member for the Rotary Club of Jacksonville and is on the Nemours Foundation Board of Managers.

Barbara G. Jaffe, who served on the Baptist Health Foundation Board from 2001 until 2010 and served as treasurer of the Board from 2008 to 2010, has been elected to the Baptist Medical Center Downtown Board of Directors. Mrs. Jaffe serves on various other boards throughout the area, and is chairman of the Jewish Community Foundation Investment Committee and a trustee of the City of Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension.

Mac Holley, who has been on the Baptist Health Foundation Board of Directors since 2003 and served as its vice chair since 2008, has been named chair of that Board. He is president and chief executive officer of Florida Capital Bank of Northeast Florida.

New Foundation Board trustees are Stacy Berg, a member of The Women's Board of Wolfson Children's Hospital and former co-chair of The Women's Board's Florida Forum fundraising lecture series; Gerald (Gary) Kunkle, retired chairman and chief executive officer of DENTSPLY International Inc; and Robin Sorensen, co-founder of Firehouse Subs and president of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Joining the Baptist Medical Center Beaches Board of Directors are Peter Ghiloni, senior vice president of Marketing for Swisher International, and Nathaniel Herring, Jacksonville city president of Fifth Third Bank.

Baptist Health also recently announced that Robert E. Hill, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Acosta Sales and Marketing Company, has been elected chair of the Baptist Health Board of Directors. Joe Louis Barrow, Jr., chief executive officer of The First Tee and executive vice president of the World Golf Foundation, has been named vice chair of the Board.
