    From the Doctor

    My approach to pediatric care is to break down any barriers patients have with their doctors. I examine babies and toddlers on their parents' laps so they don't cry. I try to provide a good patient experience, so children and their parents feel comfortable at their visits.

    When I'm not helping my own patients, I volunteer with Dreams Come True, which assists children who are battling life-threatening illnesses. I also help out at The PLAYERS Championship.

    Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, sailing and boating on the St. Johns River, and reading.

    For prescription refills, please call your pharmacist and allow 24-48 hours for it to be filled. If your prescription has expired, the pharmacy will contact our office for permission to refill it. For you protection, an examination and/or lab work may be necessary before refilling prescriptions for some medications.

      • Mary received her undergraduate degree from Davidson College before graduating from the school of physician assistant studies at the University of Florida. Her areas of expertise include acute care, women's health, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and management of chronic myofascial pain. A member of the Florida Association of Physician Assistants, she enjoys running, reading, watching college football and traveling.

      • Krista is certified in American Cardiac Life Support and is a member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Verdi joined the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, where she worked on the liver transplant team. Today, in addition to practicing medicine at Baptist Primary Care, Verdi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, going to the beach and golfing.
