Current Patients

Our Baptist Primary Care physicians and staff are committed to serve your health care needs at every stage of life.

Appointments

Many of our offices offer online appointment requests. Same day acute-care appointments are available by calling your doctor’s office. Baptist Primary Care also offers Saturday appointments for acute care services. Please call your office for access.

Avoiding Delays

We recognize that your time is valuable. We make every effort to keep a schedule, but please understand that emergencies and complicated visits may occasionally delay a doctor. Our staff will keep you informed and give you the option of re-scheduling your appointment if that works best for you.

You can help us keep on schedule by:

  • Informing the receptionist about the nature of your visit so the proper amount of time can be set aside for your appointment.
  • Arriving 10-15 minutes early for your appointment.
  • Notifying the office at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to make your appointment.
  • Bringing all of your medications or a list of your medications to your appointment.

Medication Refills

We do not want you to run out of your medication. Please remember to call for medication refills during regular office hours, and use the name as it is listed on your insurance card. To ensure more timely refills, please call your pharmacy with the number on your prescription bottle. If your refills have expired, the pharmacy will call our office for permission to fill your prescription. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for refills.

For your protection, an appointment may be necessary before refilling prescriptions for some medications including antibiotics and narcotics.

Labs, Procedures and X-rays

Our staff will notify you as soon as possible if any of your test results require prompt attention. You will be called only if you have an abnormal lab or x-ray result. Otherwise, you may receive a report in the mail in 7-14 days summarizing your test results, depending on office policy.

Referral to a specialist

Some health conditions may require us to refer you to a specialist. You should be aware of the referral policies of your insurance plan. It may limit you to seeing only specialists that are affiliated with your health plan's provider network. Obtaining a referral through your insurance plan or a specialists' office is occasionally a time-consuming process and your patience is appreciated. We will do our best to meet your needs.

Emergencies

A physician is available after-hours and during weekends for telephone consultations. Call the office telephone number of your physician and you will be connected with the physician on-call.

Patients with emergency conditions may be instructed to go to the emergency room at Baptist Medical Center or to the nearest emergency room if the emergency is life threatening. If hospital admission is required, our inpatient physicians will provide care for you. If you are with an HMO or PPO, please follow your policy's guidelines for emergencies.

Hospitalization

Should hospitalization be needed, we admit patients to Baptist Medical Center located at Downtown Jacksonville, Beaches, Nassau, South, or Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Questions?

Please call your doctor’s office any time; our medical support staff has been trained to answer most questions. If they are unable to answer a question, your medical record will be reviewed and a staff member or physician will call you back.
